SONGS and stories of the Bride Valley will be heard in Burton Bradstock this summer in a fundraising concert in aid of Home-Start West Dorset.

The Valebride Band will present The Killick Stone at Burton Bradstock School on Sunday July 8. The performance weaves together the stories of two girls separated by 150 years of village history but bound together by the rope and stone that anchors the village to the Dorset coast.

The band has already raised more than £500 for Home-Start, a local charity which gives friendship, emotional and practical support to families, and they have been invited to perform their songs at this year’s Sidmouth Folk Festival.

Tickets for the 3.30pm concert are £8 (under 12s £5) to include a glass of wine or soft drink and nibbles.

Tickets are available in advance from 01308 897389 or from Bridport Music in South Street.
