POLICE have launched an appeal for information after a driver allegedly failed to stop in Weymouth.

A 28-year-old Weymouth man was arrested and bailed as a result of the incident which took place on Monday, May 21 between midday and 12.30pm.

A silver Vauxhall Vectra was followed by a marked police car from Wey Valley School in Spa Road, along Roman Road and Dorchester Road before coming to a stop in Beech Road.

Detective Constable Dave Harrison, of Weymouth CID, said: “I understand that a number of motorists may have witnessed this incident and it may be that some people have information.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the manner of driving of the vehicle during the incident, or has any further information that may assist us with our ongoing enquiries.”
