TWO designer handbags and a Cartier watch have been stolen in a "significant" theft from a house in the Rodwell area of Weymouth.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

It is the second time the house has been targeted in the last month.

The burglary took place between 5pm on Wednesday, May 30 and 3pm on Friday, June 1 at a property on Netherton Road.

The items taken in the theft were a red Louis Vuitton handbag, coin purse and wallet, a black leather Chanel handbag and a gold Cartier watch with a black strap.

Detective constable Andy Marsh of Weymouth CID said: "This is a significant theft which has no doubt caused distress and upset to the owner of these expensive items."
