A LADY who ‘lives and breathes the National Trust’ celebrated her 90th birthday by planting four trees.
Rosemary Hunter, the president of the Dorset National Trust, celebrated her 90th birthday in style with not one but three parties. Trees were planted to mark the occasion at various sites across Dorset, including Max Gate.
The parties included one at All Saints Church in Wyke Regis and with the South Dorset National Trust at Max Gate.
Miss Hunter, of Weymouth, was president of the South Dorset group for several years and was a prominent mover in the Dorset Federation, which comprises seven district associations in Dorset.
Chairman of the South Dorset National trust association and Dorset Forum of Associations, John Figg, said: “She lives and breathes the National Trust. She’s an absolute stalwart person. Her intelligence is crystal clear – she’s a marvellous woman at 90.”
He added: “She is the inspiration of the local association.”
More than 100 people attended the party at Max Gate, where there was a buffet and Miss Hunter gave a talk.
