POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a suspected arson attack on a house in Sherborne.
Firefighters tackled the blaze at the property in Knotts Paddock at around 9.40pm on Friday evening.
Nobody was injured as a result but Dorset Police, who attended the incident, are keen to speak to anyone with information about its cause.
DC Gavin Roy, of Weymouth CID, said they were treating the fire as suspicious.
He added: “If anyone saw anything suspicious in the area before the fire broke out, or if anyone has any information, I’d encourage them to contact Dorset Police immediately.
“The investigation is in its early stages, but we are treating this fire as suspicious.
“I’m keen to hear from any witnesses who were in the area when the fire began.”
No arrests have been made in connection with the blaze.
