A FASHION show and ball organised by Weymouth College students raised more than £400 for charity.

BTEC Travel and Tourism students held the dress-to-impress event in aid of Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.

The team of students prepared for the evening by making posters and banners and recruiting models as part of their event module which involved event organisation and production.

A total of 11 boys and girls were selected to model the clothing for the fashion show, which ran before the ball began.

They also secured clothes from local businesses such as Marks and Spencer in Dorchester, New Look, Burton, Rude Not Too and Henri Lloyd in Weymouth town centre.

Lecturer Janine Hodson said: “I’m really proud of how much the students did to get this show on the road.

“It required a lot of time, dedication and careful planning.”
