LOCAL people are being encouraged to consider standing as public governors for Dorset HealthCare.
The NHS Trust has six seats open for nominations in the county, with the chosen governors representing the views of 10,000 members, acting as ambassadors for the trust and bringing new ideas for local healthcare services.
Gail Taylor, business manager at Dorset HealthCare, said: “Since the transition of all community health services in July 2011, the trust has grown considerably.
“With around 5,000 staff and additional services across the county, it’s an exciting time to become a governor – particularly due to the increased powers and responsibilities that governors now enjoy under the new Health and Care Social Act.”
Anyone over 16 can stand for election, but they must become a member first.
