I have just read T Herbert’s letter (June 16) with regard to the Plaza cinema Trinity Street.
The Plaza cinema is an institution, full of nostalgia that fills your mind full of days gone by, childhood memories of the big screen adventure.
It is an institution that is managed and run by excellent staff who remember you and greet you with friendly enthusiasm.
It’s an institution that has adapted to modern technology but has not been overtaken by it and still retains all of its charm.
There might be a new kid coming on to the block on the cinema scene, but to tease the Plaza faithful away can the Odeon build in all of the above and charge under £2.50? I doubt it.
No contest.
