ORGANISERS are praying for sunshine as they count down to the next big events for Weymouth and Portland’s maritime festival this weekend.
Spirit of the Sea, which runs until July 15, celebrates the borough’s maritime links in the run-up to the Olympics through a range of community events.
Coming up this weekend is the Dorset Seafood Festival, which will be held around Weymouth harbour on Saturday and Sunday.
Featuring top chefs, cookery demonstrations and lots more, it is an event not to miss if you love all things seafood.
Saturday also sees the Big Grove Summer Festival, a family music event at the Grove on Portland.
It runs from noon to midnight and features a great line up of local talent.
The events will go ahead rain or shine and people are urged to turn out and support Spirit of the Sea.
