Police appeal for witnesses to Weymouth bike theft

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a bike worth £800 was stolen in Weymouth.
Dorset Police released details of the alleged theft today and are urging anyone with any information to get in contact.
The incident took place in the Westham area of the town at around 5.30pm on Sunday, June 17.
A blue and white Scott Speedster bicycle with a white saddle, valued at around £800, was reported stolen from outside Frederick Place.
PC Amanda Pierce, of Weymouth CID, said: “We are appealing for information as to the whereabouts of this missing bicycle.
“We would urge anyone who may have purchased a similar bicycle for an unusually low price or in suspicious circumstances to contact Dorset Police in confidence.”
A 37-year-old man from Weymouth has been arrested and charged.
Witnesses and anyone with information can call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 17:363, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
