GREEN transport links between Weymouth and Dorchester are set to be improved with a £2.4million government grant paid out over the next three financial years.
Dorset County Council will receive the funds now it has made a successful bid to the Department for Transport (DfT).
The cash will promote sustainable transport links in the Weymouth to Dorchester corridor.
The council will also contribute nearly £1.2million of its own resources. The improvements to the transport network will include upgrading the walking and cycling routes between the towns, insg electric vehicle charging points and variable messaging in Dorchester.
