6:32pm Friday 7th September 2012 in News
SAILING legend Ben Ainslie will be on float 15 when the Our Greatest Team Parade travels through London on Monday.
Final preparations are well underway for the capital’s parade that will represent the greatest ever gathering of British Olympians and Paralympians.
It is anticipated that up to 700 Team GB and ParalympicsGB athletes, including more than 90 percent of medal winners, will participate.
Members of the public are invited to view the 21-float parade, organised by the Mayor of London with the British Olympic Association and the British Paralympic Association, as it leaves Mansion House at 1.30pm and travels to Trafalgar Square.
British Airways will lead a flypast with the Red Arrows over London to display a 13-metre long thank you message to Team GB, ParalympicsGB and the home crowd.
Extensive road closures will be in place throughout the morning, free transport advice for spectators is online at tfl.gov.uk.
