PLANS have been submitted for a new 10-home development on the edge of Dorchester .
Bournemouth-based property firm Fresh Developments Ltd is proposing to demolish two homes in Came View Road to make way for 10 new three-bedroom houses.
The scheme will also involve the creation of a new vehicular access for the development and will provide two car parking spaces per property.
A design and access statement accompanying the planning application states that details of the proposal have been based on the nearby development at Loud’s Piece off Alington Road, which saw permission for eight homes granted in March last year.
The plans propose to take advantage of ‘underused’ rear gardens stretching back 50m behind the property.
The design and access statement says: “The combined area of both plots create a significantly large development site which has not been utilised to its best advantages given the scarcity of developable land and advice given by the Government to its uses.
“The combines site therefore lends itself to a denser housing scheme without it being considered overdevelopment and detrimental to the visual appearance of the area.”
It goes on to add: “It is not considered there will be any negative impact from the development.”
