UPDATED: Events called off due to weather

First published in News

SEVERE weather has meant several Dorset events have been called off today.

The Eggardon Kite Festival, which was to take place near Bridport, has been cancelled, and the Dorset One World Festival, in Dorchester, will also not go ahead.

The Rotary Dorset bike ride at Wareham has been postponed due to high winds and Dorset Wildlife Trust's Walk for Wildlife has been called off due to heavy rain.

The weather in Dorchester today didn't seem bad enough to warrant wholesale shut down of events as the Amber warning was at that time Devon & Cornwall.
Seems since the Met Office got caught out with bad weather in the past they are getting as bad as over the top H&S.
