First published in News

Coastguards went to help a seal in trouble.

Portland Coastguard received a 999 call yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 2) reporting a seal in distress at Swanage.

British Divers Marine Life Rescue was made aware of the situation and Swanage Coastguard investigated, but found that the adult grey seal was not having any difficulties.

Coastguards said they considered the call a ‘false alert with good intent.’
