Elaine O’Connell and Lizzie McCready are the new leaders of the Second Radipole Guides, having taken over from Tina Harrison who has led the group for nearly thirty years.
Elaine continues as Brown Owl for the First Radipole Brownies, whom she has led since 2008.
They are looking forward to a busy programme that includes an activities day at Buddens Scout Centre, harvest festival, a bacon butty morning next month and Christmas festivities plus decorating the church font and a ‘red celebrity party’.
n Drawing classes for beginners take place at Hetherly Road in a light and spacious purpose built studio.
The classes are for people who would like to be able to draw but are unsure of techniques and materials.
The aim is to improve drawing skills in a friendly, supportive atmosphere, with a choice of four sessions: Monday morning or afternoon and Wednesday morning or afternoon. The two-hour sessions can be booked in blocks of six for £42 or single sessions at £8 to include refreshments.
