LOVE has blossomed for two old friends from Poundbury.
Sharron Louise Andrews, 42, married her partner of seven years, Roy Christopher Butcher, also 42, in a ceremony at the United Church in South Street, Dorchester, before heading to Brownsword Hall in Poundbury for the reception.
Sharron works as a cleaner and Roy works doing ground main-tenance.
Sharron had been a friend of the Butcher family for many years and after Roy divorced his first wife the couple realised they had feelings for each other and got together.
Roy didn’t propose – instead the couple jointly decided to get married and set a date for July 24.
Mrs Butcher said: “It was a lovely day. We had everyone there around us; family, friends.
“It was about everybody celebrating together. We had a really special day.”
The couple wanted to thank photographer Jay Eastwood for all his work.
The bride wore an ivory silk dress with a wine coloured trim.
After the wedding the couple spent three days in London staying with family as a mini-honeymoon the week after the wedding.
They are hoping to get away for a longer break next year.
