WEST Dorset students helped older people to brush up on their computer skills.

Six pupils from Year Six at Charmouth Primary School visited the Charmouth Memorable Memoirs Club which meets in the village library.

The children brought iPads with them and also spent some time troubleshooting the members’ laptops and tablets.

The students helped to show them how to use the internet and how to access music, films, TV and radio online. Jan Gale, one of the group’s organisers, said: “This was a great way of forging relationships between the school and older generation.

“The Memorable Memoirs group got to learn new skills and the youngsters had an opportunity to find out about the interesting lives that the group members have lived.”

She added: “This is just the start of the relationship as the pupils will be visiting a further three times this year helping us with our computer skills.”
