KINGSTON Maurward students are all mucking in to take care of orphaned piglets.

Five piglets that have been orphaned are being hand reared by students at the Kingston Maurward Animal Park. Three of the piglets are pink, one is ginger and one is black and white.

The piglets were rescued by Royal Veterinary College students studying part of their course at the Dorchester campus farm. Animal technicians and students are now bottle feeding the little piglets on the hour around the clock. Technician Barbara Holden said: “Ultimately we will place the piglets with another sow to foster once she’s had her litter, but until then we’re all mucking in.”
