SPEND a night under the stars to help raise vital funds for the homeless.

The Bournemouth Churches Housing Association is running a sponsored sleep out on West Bexington beach on Saturday, September 7 from 7pm.

The aim of the event is to open people’s eyes to the challenges faced by homeless people on a daily basis.

The Big Sleep Out will be raising money to support homeless people throughout Dorset, helping BCHA to continue to provide the support people need to get off the streets.

BCHA fundraising manager Lorna Trent said: “With all the hot weather we have had, it is easy for us to forget how cold and harsh this winter was and the additional problems that this brought for the homeless.

“The money raised from last year’s Big Sleep Out helped to provide shelter to those who urgently needed it last winter.

“We are asking people to take part in this year’s event to ensure that when the cold weather comes again we have the necessary funds to provide food, clothing and warmth to those who need it.”

The Big Sleep Out will once again be raising money to support homeless people throughout Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset, helping BCHA to continue to provide the vital support these people need to get off the streets.
