A farming charity is hoping to tackle major issues whilst enjoying Dorset’s countryside.
Addington Fund (AF) is organising a Dorset farm walk and worship this Friday (16) with Andy and Nicola Foot at Bookham Farm, Alton Pancras, near Dorchester.
It comes as part of the charity’s involvement in Dorset with its Strategic Rural Housing Scheme – providing homes for farming families in England and Wales who face losing theirs after being forced to leave the industry, through no fault of their own.
AF recently helped a farmer affected by Storm Desmond, by replacing some fencing that had been washed away.
The charity will provide an update on its progress with the scheme during the evening.
Rev Dr Jean Coates, rural officer for Dorset, will lead the evening, and Mr Foot invites participants to stay for refreshments after the walk.
To round off the evening there will be Purbeck Ice Cream provided by Pete and Hazel Hartle.
Members of the public are invited to go along and join in evening which starts at 6pm.
