The attached photo, sent in by reader Warren Davis, made our week.
It shows a chap called Bill Mayo cuddling his tame badger in the courtyard of the Crown Hotel in Blandford.
Mr Davis explained: “My father Walter took it when I was about three, during the war.
“I think that Bill Mayo was a chauffeur at the Crown Hotel in Blandford.
“He lived in the tack room above the stables and had a tame badger – something you probably wouldn’t be allowed to do now!
“I was obsessed with the badger when I was little and my parents used to take me to see it.
“I think I called it ‘Badgey’.”
Mr Davis would love to know if anyone can remember Bill and his badger – and so would we!
Please get in touch if you can shed some light.
