THE owners of Al Molo the fine dining Italian restaurant in Weymouth’s historic Pier Bandstand are appealing to anyone who may know the people in this photograph, which they were given when they opened the restaurant a year ago.

When Giuseppe Vannucci and Tim Newton opened Al Molo, they were handed a colour photograph which they think was of an advert for Pullingers, the original restaurant on the site.

Pullingers was a silver service restaurant on the Pier Bandstand that was famous for its ‘Rib Of Beef’. Pullingers was owned by Dennis and Mary Pullinger and ran from the late 1940s until the mid 1970’s.

Tim Newton said: “The first time I saw this photograph, it got me thinking who were these people and where are they now?

"The restaurant looks so different now its amazing how things change over the course of time. Many of our customers talk about Pullingers with fond memories when they come in to dine with us, the food, the reputation and the people that worked there.”

In the photograph you can see four members of staff and the original lay out of the restaurant. They have no idea when it was taken or who the people are in the picture.

Giuseppe Vannucci says “I think it may have been for an advert in 1968.”

Anyone who can identify the people in the photo or the year should get in touch.
