DYB dyb dyb – and these youngsters really did do their best.

The picture, left, sent in by Kenny Best, shows the 1st Weymouth Scouts seated around a rather handsome football trophy.

It was taken in Weymouth’s Old Town hall opposite the Boot Inn during the 1957-58 season when the boys were 10 years old.

The two adults pictured standing are Mr Knight and Mrs Johnston – or Johnson – who ran the pack and her son Trevor is the lad seated with the trophy.

Kenny is pictured standing on the left hand side of the picture and the other names he can recall are Barry Patterson (second left in front row), Clive James (third from left, front row), Robbie Evans (standing on the right hand side) and Jock Brisbane (fourth from left in front row).

Can anyone else name more names?
