POLICE have issued a warning to residents after a second burglary in Dorchester in the space of 10 days.
An intruder entered a property in Bridport Road, between Poundbury Crescent and Damers Road, through an insecure door sometime between 11.45am and 3.15pm on Tuesday.
They made off with electrical items.
The burglary followed an incident on Sunday October 21 when an offender gained access to a property in Wardbrook Street in Poundbury through an unsecured rear door and stole a laptop, camera and mobile phone.
Dorchester Police are urging homeowners to make sure they do not leave their doors unlocked and to contact police if they notice anything suspicious.
Deputy inspector at Dorchester Police Station Steve Foot said: “Both of these burglaries involved gaining access via unsecured rear doors.
“People really do need to get the message that they need to secure their properties.”
Witnesses to the latest burglary are asked to contact Dorchester Police Station on 101, quoting crime number 45714.
