WEYMOUTH Town Bridge will be closed to traffic from tomorrow (Monday) for major repair and maintenance work.
Pedestrians will still be able to cross the bridge.
The works are scheduled to run until May 20 but there will be a two-week break for Easter when the bridge will re-open to traffic.
Dorset County Council commissioned the refurbishment of the bridge after inspections highlighted "serious wear and tear."
A revised lifted schedule during the work period has been agreed with the Harbour Master.
