CHILDREN from a Dorchester pre-school have made a special trip to visit residents at a nearby care home.
Grove Pre-School Playgroup visited Maiden Castle House to sing Christmas carols.
The activity takes place every year with pupils aged between three and four visiting each of the care units in the home.
Delighted residents wished the children a Merry Christmas.
After the carolling, the children were invited for refreshments in the main lounge with the home’s residents.
Residents asked the children about their plans for Christmas and the presents they had asked for, before reminiscing about their own childhood Christmases.
Dawn Palmer, home manager at Care South’s Maiden Castle House, said: “Our residents loved meeting the children and talking to them about Christmas. At Care South we work hard to plan special activities like these that our residents will really engage with and that will make Christmas a memorable time for them.”
The children are planning to return to Care South’s Maiden Castle House in spring, for a special Teddy Bears’ Picnic activity.
