Take a gambol on a great weekend

There are a lot of attractions this weekend including local music talent, new born lambs and a chance to find some quality plants for the garden.

*ENJOY the sight of new born lambs at Kingston Maurward near Dorchester this weekend.

Down on the farm Kingston Maurward is holding its annual lambing weekend tomorrow and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

Come and meet the animals at the animal park at this special time of year when newborn lambs are being welcomed into the big wide world.

There will also be free bouncy castle sessions, Weymouth Beach donkey rides and face painting

And see if you can spot Kingston Maurward's sheep mascot and give her a hug!

*APPRECIATE the talent of local musicians at the Weymouth Music Festival tomorrow at Budmouth College.

Talented musicians of every age will be given the chance to perform in front of an audience, many for the first time.

Members of the public are invited to go along and support the local music-makers.

*EXPERIENCE the unique sound of gypsy jazz in Cerne Abbas Village Hall on Sunday evening.

Dorset based Petites Annonces play jazz alongside music from old French chansons like Charles Trenet and Jacques Dutronc.

The show is also at Broadoak Village Hall tomorrow evening.

*REMEMBER the late, great singer Leonard Cohen at the Marine Theatre, Lyme Regis tonight at 8pm.

The Poetry and Music of Leonard Cohen (1934-2016) has been a constant friend throughout many of our lives. Keith James brings us interpretive versions of Cohen’s songs in fitting tribute to the legend.

*A PLANT and gardening fair will be held at Forde Abbey and Gardens in Chard on Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

There will be more than 30 stalls selling plants and gardening sundries, RHS advice and inspiration for the Spring garden.

Admission is £3 and includes entry to the gardens.

*TALK orchids at Poundbury Garden Centre tomorrow between 9am and 6pm.

Ian Parsons, former vice chairman of the British Orchid Council and President of the South West Orchid Society, will return to the Gardens Group this March with more advice and tips about caring for orchids.

As well as holding an orchid clinic from 10am to 4pm, Ian will also be giving two free 40 minute talks at 11am and 2pm on maintaining orchid health, encouraging repeat flowering as well as the tricky business of re-potting.

*CELEBRATE the coming of Spring with Bournemouth Symphony Brass at Studland Village Hall on Sunday evening.

BSO Brass presents an evening of musical delights, taking you on a journey through exquisite pieces of classical music by Bach and Byrd, to jazz classics such as Oh When the Saints and Just a Closer Walk.
