Three vehicles have been involved in a crash on Portland.

Paramedics treated six people following the collision but no one was seriously injured.

A South West Ambulance spokesman said no one was taken to hospital with the injured people being treated at the scene. The service left the area by 9.44am.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said the vehicles have been recovered and the road is now clear.

The incident was recorded on police logs as taking place at East Street, Underhill near the King Street junction. Officers were called to the incident by the ambulance service at 8.27am.

A spokesman for the South West Ambulance Service Trust said: "We received a call at just after 8am this morning. Three vehicles were involved in a collision and there are six patients currently being attended to by paramedics at the scene. There is nothing to suggest there are any life-threatening injuries."

The Dorset Police spokesman said the cars involved were a black Ford S Max registered to a woman from Portland, a silver Citroen Picasso registered to a man from Portland and a blue Toyota registered to a man from Portland.

The spokesman added: "Recovery for the vehicles was arranged and the road is now clear. Several people suffered minor injuries."
