Are you caring for someone and feel you could use a bit of support - or even just a friendly chat - with someone who understands?

Portland Carers Support Group is a group for carers living in the Portland area. If you are caring for someone and think you might like a bit of help, advice or just a chat with someone who is in a similar situation to you, then the group would love to hear from you.

Portland Carers holds monthly meetings on the last Monday of each month and, for its first meeting of 2018, will welcome Rachel Rogers of Weymouth and Portland Citizens Advice, who will chat about the services the CAB provides.

The meeting will take place at 10.15am on Monday(29) in the Weston room at Easton Methodist Church. All are welcome to pop in for a coffee and refreshments.

Portland Carers has long-standing members with a wealth of knowledge between them in relation to all matters of care. The group also works with professionals who can signpost to the correct departments and services, as well as offer support and advice for those who need it.

This year, the group has been sponsored by the local Co-op branch at Easton. The store has pledged to provide the group's tea, coffee and cakes for its meetings as well as supporting it at outside functions such as coffee morning and an information drop-in session at Easton Library on Monday, June 11, during Carers Week.

Portland Carers has a busy year ahead and will be holding its own Rotary table-top sale at Community 2000 in October.

All are welcome to attend any of the group's events or pop along to any of its meetings for support and advice.
