A HANDSHAKE from Camilla, a soldier rescuing her hat, cucumber sandwiches, a look at Buckingham Palace up close and bright sunshine all made for a perfect day for one Beaminster woman.

Margaret Greenham was thrilled to get an invitation, now framed, for the Queen's garden party after being made an honorary townswoman.

She said: "It was absolutely fabulous. I shook hands with Camilla, out of all the thousands that were there she stopped and spoke to me. She asked where I came from and said what a wonderful place to live Dorset was.

"I was determined to go in the main entrance part the first quadrangle where my hat blew off and a soldier retrieved it.

"I felt very honoured and quite excited to be there. We had the cucumber sandwiches and three little cakes, it was lovely."
