ORGANISERS at Weldmar Hospicecare Trust are celebrating raising a record amount at their annual charity lunch.

The event was held at the Riverside Restaurant in West Bay and organisers, Dr Ian Gibson and Mr David Durrant, were thrilled to raise a staggering £1,800 for the charity.

The 78 guests at the restaurant were greeted with an aperitif before sitting down to a delicious two-course lunch prepared by head chef, Tony Shaw and his team, followed by tea and coffee.

Guests were also entertained with a very informative an amusing talk by Dawn Warr.

Speaking at the lunch she talked about her life so far, as 'a gamekeeper, taxidermist gamekeeper, taxidermist and pet portrait artist'.

Organiser Mr Gibson said: "On behalf of the Trust, I would like to thank everyone who generously supported our lunch and in particularly Arthur Watson and his team at the Riverside who provided us with a superb lunch as well as generously donating 55 per cent of the takings to our charity.

"The selection of raffle prizes this year was tremendous and special thanks must go to those that gave the prizes and of course to those that bought the raffle tickets on the day.

"Thanks to all your support and efforts we have raised a record £1800 this year, which is fantastic."
