THE festival spirit is in full swing in Weymouth this weekend.
Today was the first day of the two-day Out Loud music festival.
The event across the weekend was a partnership between the Weymouth Lions Club and the Weymouth BID.
People danced and sang along as acts performed on stages throughout the town.
Richard Burgess from the Lions Club said: “We were fortunate with the weather. We have been really pleased, for a first time event.
“We have had a few no-shows from artists but overall it’s been great," he said.
“There has been a big variety of music ranging from bands to Weymouth Ukuleleans and they were very popular.
“We're pretty happy with the weekend. There’s been a nice atmosphere in the town.”
Nick Gomer from the Skint Imperials, who will play tomorrow, said the event was ‘very interesting.’
He said: “It’s great fun. It’s good.”
Nigel Chainey said: “You need these sorts of things to get people involved.”
He said the event was very good and allowed people to listen to different local groups they might not have heard of before.
He said: “It’s giving them a wider audience; it’s a showcase.”
Friends Sue and Leeann, both from Weymouth, sang with the Dorset for Singing group on the stage by the Fantastic Sausage Factory on St Mary Street today.
Leeann Tye-Biss said: “I think it’s guaranteed a lot of extra visitors that might have otherwise just been on the beach. It’s nice to see.”
Sue Mackie said: “It’s really good. There’s a good crowd.”
