IT MAY be incredibly warm, but temperatures are set to rise even higher and pulses to race as heartthrobs come to Weymouth.

Filming is taking place at the harbour next week for Hollywood blockbuster Dunkirk, which stars former One Directioner Harry Styles, Peaky Blinders' Cillian Murphy and flim star Tom Hardy.

They will also be shooting parts of the Second World War epic at Swanage.

As revealed in the Echo, Warner Brothers also held open casting events, meaning local people could be set to star as extras.

A notice from Weymouth and Portland Borough Council to mariners states that filming is taking place in the harbour on Wednesday, from 11am until 11pm and on Thursday, from 2pm until 2am.

Next Tuesday will be used as a 'set-up' day and Thursday will be used for clear-up.

During filming of Dunkirk in France, the codename Bodega Bay has been used.

A call for more extras posted on Facebook states that 'Bodega Bay' will be filming in Weymouth on July 28.

The film will also star Sir Kenneth Branagh and Mark Rylance.

The notice to mariners states that a street closure will be in place, mainly affecting Custom House Quay, Pilgrim Way and South Parade and that there will also be limited berthing space for visitors and some may be requested to go to Weymouth or Portland Marina.

It adds that on filming days the river will be closed to all vessels for short periods of time up to 10 minutes in length while filming takes place.

Some dressing boats will be moored to temporary moorings placed in the main river and pedestrian and vehicle access around the harbour may likewise be controlled during filming.

The filming will also see the lifeboat berthed in a temporary position and Weymouth Sailing Club will be clearing vessels from moorings and yards, usage of the Fish Landing Quay may only be used with prior approval from the Harbour Master.

Operations that run from the ferry steps, including cross-harbour rowing ferries and boat trips will be closed from Tuesday to Thursday.

Items of infrastructure will be removed from around the harbour and extra items will be added to transform the area to the look of the period of the film.

The fishing gear stored adjacent to the fish landing quay will be moved to the ferry port.

Notices have also been placed around Weymouth suspending parking in some areas while filming takes place.
