STEP back in time with our picture special focusing on the transport of yesteryear.

From trains, boats and Great Western Railway's first bus, they are all here in our picture special.

The pictures span from pre-First World War, right up to the swinging 60s and feature by-gone images of Weymouth , Portland and Dorchester, including the Flying Scotsman making a stop into Weymouth in 1965, pictures of horse-drawn carts on Weymouth Esplanade in 1910 and the Shambles Lightship off Portland.

We would like to thank Andy Hutchings, Rodney Legg, Herbert William Bird, Terry Gale and Marion Snow for their help with this picture special.

If you have any old pictures of Weymouth, Portland or Dorchester you would like to share with us, please feel free to email them to use here.
