POLICE hunting four suspects following burglary at a Dorset supermarket have released CCTV footage of the break-in.

The burglary at Waitrose in Gillingham took place shortly after 1am on Wednesday, September 30.

Four people forced their way into the store in Chantry Fields and attempted to break into the cigarette counter, only to find the counter to be empty.

They then removed a small number of items from the store before exiting and leaving in a vehicle toward Le Neubourg Way.

Police Constable Simon Rogers, of North Dorset police, said: "I am releasing CCTV images in the hope that someone may recognise the suspects by the clothes they were wearing or their build or stance.

"I would also appeal to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to contact me on 101.

"All calls will be treated in strict confidence."

Witnesses and anyone with information are asked to call Dorset Police in confidence on 101, quoting occurrence number 55150081337.
