A missing Weymouth man has been found safe and well.

Michael Feilder, 56, was reportedly last seen at 8.30am yesterday (25) at Lanehouse Surgery in Ludlow Road and was believed to have left in a distressed state.

He has now been located in Weymouth.

Earlier police put out the following appeal:

Dorset Police say checks have been carried out in the local area and at his home in Abbotsbury Road but Michael has not been found.

Meanwhile, searches remain ongoing today while the NPAS helicopter has been drafted in to help.

Michael is described as white, of average height and build, with a short dark beard and dark hair.

It is also possible he is wearing a multi-coloured hat.

Inspector Matt Chutter, of Dorset Police, said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Michael as we believe he is feeling very upset.

“I would urge anyone who has seen Michael or a man matching the description given to please contact Dorset Police immediately.

“Finally, if Michael sees this appeal I would ask him to please make contact with us – we and your family are very worried about you.”
