MICHELIN starred chef Russell Brown will be serving up a treat for foodies at a celebrity chef’s restaurant.

Russell, chef proprietor of Sienna restaurant in Dorchester, has been asked to cook the main course at the annual launch of the Trencherman’s Guide at Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, Cornwall.

The Trencherman’s Guide showcases the best restaurants in the South West and the launch event takes place on March 12.

Russell said: “I am delighted to be cooking at Rick’s restaurant.

“The Trencherman’s Guide is a great resource for food-lovers and shows just how the south west has moved forward in the last few years – we have a great combination of first class restaurants and excellent produce.”

This year the guide will have a digital version available on the Newstand app on iPhone.

There will also be a series of Trencherman’s Guide reader events running throughout the year for the first time.

The new printed guides will be unveiled for the first time at the launch in Padstow and will then be available, free of charge, for food lovers to pick up at the participating restaurants.

The restaurants are also included on the website trenchermans-guide.co.uk which will also have a ‘live booking’ facility this year to make it easier for keen foodies to book a table.

Director Jo Rees said: “The Trencherman’s Guide leads the field when it comes to showcasing the very best dining in the south west, and this year it has been taken to another level, with more restaurants included than ever before and exciting innovations such as the live bookings, digital edition and reader events taking place.”

Sienna restaurant in High West Street has been hitting the headlines since it was the first Dorset eatery to be awarded the coveted Michelin star for more than 20 years.

Michelin stars, awarded after a number of unannounced visits by reviewers, are the highest honour in the restaurant industry. Sienna was listed in the 2010 guide as one of only 140 restaurants in the UK to earn the star.

The same year, Sienna was awarded three AA rosettes for the fourth year running.

The Michelin star was retained for a second year last year, making Sienna the only restaurant in Dorset to have held a star for more than 12 months – the last was in 1983.
