POLICE in Dorchester are appealing for witnesses after women’s underwear was stolen from a washing line in the town.

Two pairs of underwear were taken from a garden on Alexandra Terrace at around 8am on Monday, March 26.

The culprit was a white man believed to be between five feet seven inches and five feet nine inches tall and was wearing a grey hooded top during the theft.

Police Constable Jess Chapman, of Dorchester police, said: “The offender stole two pairs of women’s underwear from a washing line in a garden in Alexandra Terrace.

“He left the garden through a gate at the back which leads into an alleyway.

“I would encourage anyone who witnessed this incident, or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around Alexandra Terrace, to contact Dorset Police.”

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 26:57.
