A HANDMADE card of congratulations is on its way to the Queen from Portland St John Ambulance, prior to the tea party being organised by the Cadets and Badgers for the public on Tuesday, June 5.
The large card, signed by members of the Portland Division and made by Cadet Officer Victoria Schooling, features a Forever Friends Bear standing in a sentry box, surmounted by the Union Flag and the whole picture decorated with diamante.
Hopefully the sun will shine on June 5 so that the celebration for the Diamond Jubilee can be held in the grounds of the Portland St John headquarters in Easton Lane.
The celebration party will run from 2pm to 6pm and members are providing the tea and cakes.
The party fare is free, although donations will be welcomed to help towards equipment and training costs for all the volunteer members.
