HER Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset is set to launch a fund in partnership with Dorset Community Foundation to help young and talented Dorset residents.

The new fund, which is being set up by HM Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset, Angus Campbell, will enable youngsters from the ages of 14 to 21 with ‘exceptional talents’, or who have made a difference whilst overcoming personal difficulties, by providing them with additional funding in order to help them achieve and fulfil their potential.

The Lord-Lieutenant Fund for the young and talented, officially launching in Weymouth next month will aim to support youngsters who have recognised talents in all sectors as a part of their local community, offering an opportunity for local trusts, individuals and businesses to make a donation towards the fund which is being set in conjunction with the Dorset Community Foundation.

Many people in the county believe this will be a fantastic way to allow young people to achieve their ambitions and form a bright future for Dorset’s stars in the making.

The fund will be taking in applications for talented young people who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and will enable them to achieve their dreams and make the most of their talent.

I would urge youngsters across Dorset to use this fund to their full advantage.
