As all of us will know, there are far better places to go shopping in Dorset than Weymouth town centre.
Today, I believe there are only a handful of good shops in Weymouth. People end up travelling further afield to places like Southampton, Bournemouth and even London to go on a decent shopping trip.
Although it may be a good day out with friends or family, travelling has its expenses.
I think Weymouth town centre has the potential to be something great, what with its views, eateries and small, independent businesses, but I do think the town’s tourism would benefit greatly from a better town centre with good places to shop.
Many teenagers find there isn’t much to do in Weymouth but all know that if the town was good with things to do and places to shop there wouldn’t be any complaints.
Perhaps in the next five to seven years, when I will have some money to spend, Weymouth town centre will be thriving with good shops and a good crowd.
