Every Saturday, young people get to have their say in the Dorset Echo's Voices page.

Global warming is steadily becoming a major issue in our society.

With people in power such as Donald Trump, who refuses to acknowledge the problems we will soon be facing, an understanding of the situation needs to be taught to all young people.

It’s going to be our world. We need to step up to the plate.

Caused by the increasing amounts of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide and methane, global warming will result in the melting of polar ice caps, stronger tropical storms and more unusual hazardous weather.

We need to cut down on our usage of these greenhouse gases and use more sustainable sources of electricity.

In my opinion, this issue matters more than any others we are facing today.

I believe more should be done to raise money for sustainable sources of energy, we should increase our recycling and our resources need to be saved.

Young people should learn more about this because it’s us who are going to have to deal with it.

We are taught about global warming at my school and are encouraged to think about our futures.

I believe other schools should too.
