FOR the last three months, and for even longer for Rupert (director and writer), Dawn, (set designer) and Mike, Ollie, and Andy (set, sound and lighting) all of the cast and musicians have put our lives on hold.

Our lives became our characters on that stage. Rehearsals all night, all day, 12 nights of the show after working nine to five during the day. I myself am moving house before the final performance.

And tomorrow is the final performance of community play Drummer Hodge. I know that everyone working on this show feels the same way.

We have got to know each other like family, and care about each other’s wellbeing. Well my message to the readers of the Echo is a massive thank you for your support.

We can only try so hard, but it's thanks to you coming to see the show that I’ve had one of the best experiences of my life. I hope those who see the final shows enjoy it and keep coming to see theatre in Dorchester.
