The Friends of Weymouth Pavilion Committee would like to congratulate Phil and Lou and their team on the successful completion of one year running of the Pavilion complex.

They have worked hard to make the complex a centre providing a wide range of activities for the community. I have been privileged to attend a variety of shows, both as a paying theatre-goer and as an usher, and I have been impressed by the high standard of the shows on offer.

Indeed as one happy theatre-goer said to me last week: “You couldn't see better in the West End and for a fraction of the price.”

Another happy parent, after seeing Pirates of the Pavilion, said: “I have lived here for 30 years and it’s the first time that I have been to this theatre, but it most certainly won’t be the last.”

So well done Phil and Lou in providing what the public want.

Lastly, I would like to thank my team of ushers and all the volunteers for their invaluable contribution in the successful running of our Pavilion.

Without you it couldn’t happen.

So people of Weymouth and Portland and the surrounding areas support your theatre, if only for a coffee and a delicious piece of home-made cake, not forgetting the wonderful views from the Piano Bar and see what else is on offer.

You may be surprised.
