When the Curtis Fields plans were first unveiled several years ago, residents said 500 houses were too many for that area. Betterment has already cleared extra space outside the ‘first phase’ area.

Eight years ago the Weymouth plan was for massive extra housing, but since then the jobs forecast has fallen considerably, so the housing needs must also be less. So who will be buying these houses, apart from the jobless?

Betterment have made an extraordinary claim that the scheme will benefit wildlife. Apart from all the extra cats catching the wildlife, and dogs spreading excrement, how can removing acres of green space be beneficial for wildlife?!

Basically, a green lung next to built up areas of west Weymouth will be removed, taking away a recreational area for residents, to supply hundreds of homes which aren’t needed, and the jobs which aren’t there; the only people to benefit will be Betterment.
