A few weeks ago (or was it months) we heard of a proposal for the borough to partner a business to set up a tourist information centre.

The subject seems to have died an early death, perhaps because we are not supposed to get tourists in winter. I imagine, with apprehension, a similar partnership of the post office and Thorntons, and we know what happened there. We never did learn of the secret partner and the secret location.

I don’t suppose the council has the temerity to go back to the ideal TIC on The Esplanade which must come up for bids again soon.

I have heard that the council will probably take over the whole of the Mulberry Centre. So, if the Sure Start Children’s Centre is to be relocated, there would be plenty of room there for a TIC and we, the council tax payers, would not have to pay rent as it is a council property, not for a partner seeking a profit.

Just a thought...
