I read with some amusement the headlines on the front page of Thursday’s Echo, December 16, “Services face axe to pay for rubbish collection”.

I nearly had a cardiac arrest over my porridge. Surely it would be more truthful to say: “Services face axe to pay for rubbish NOT collected.”

Around this area we are still waiting for our recycling bin to be emptied. The bin is now full and the lid refuses to stay shut.

Despite making enquiries nothing happens. I am off to clean the porridge currently running down the kitchen walls.
