I WONDER if anyone else has rung 111 to try and get help these last few days, knowing that the A&E departments are overrun.
I tried to help my next door neighbour, who lives on her own and is aged 80 and confused.
I could not get a doctor out to see her so I telephoned 111 for advice.
Silly thing to do as all they want to do is ask questions and as they are not trained people in emergencies, you are unable to get help. So I had to ring 999 as she was suffering chest and lung pains.
I finally got an ambulance to her, and things were sorted out without visiting the A&E department. But why if you care for a neighbour do you have to go through all that? Surely a doctor could visit and then an ambulance would not be tied up.
