THE Echo reports that Portland has a one-in-three chance of becoming the operations base for the Navitus Windfarm if the windfarm application is approved in early September.

I’m surprised that the Echo didn’t think that this was worth a front-page headline, it being potentially the biggest employment opportunity here since the MOD moved out of Southwell in the 90s.

I only hope we can expect a more partisan approach from our MP. I believe he has opposed the windfarm, in support of the opposition camp in east Dorset, but if the project is adopted in September, I hope he will put his full weight behind the Portland bid.
